In order to improve the security of our Baylor network and to conform to best practices, beginning Monday, June 10, ITS will apply new firewall settings that could possibly affect some of our clients from off campus. The new settings will disable off-campus access to on-campus DNS Servers (18.104.22.168 and 22.214.171.124).
Most computer systems are automatically assigned an appropriate DNS server (DHCP) when they connect to the network, so this change should have minimal affect to our clients. On campus systems should be completely unaffected by this change. However, if some users have these IP addresses manually configured in their network settings, they will experience computer problems with symptoms that are consistent with an Internet connection failure.
The Help Desk will be glad to assist clients with any questions or concerns.
