Copy Services, along with ITS Networking Systems, will be moving forward with networking all copiers on campus. There will likely be five phases to this process as approximately 170 copiers need to be networked.
In order to minimize unscheduled outages and improve service, server maintenance will be performed on the Blackboard servers on Friday, January 19 from 10:30 PM to midnight. The latest software patch will be installed.
BearSpace (Xythos) was upgraded on January 3 to fix both minor bugs and a security issue. The security fix has broken our custom code that allows seamless logins to Xythos from the BearSpace tab within Blackboard.
The work over the weekend went very well. Outages will vary in the 90 minute to 2 hour range. Services that will affected in facilities listed below are AirBear access, Faculty and Staff data networks, Student Networks and Cable TV. (more)

The BearSpace system will be unavailable on Wednesday, January 3, beginning at 8:00 a.m. (note: previously 10:00 a.m.) in order to perform scheduled maintenance. All access to BearSpace is expected to be restored by 1:00 p.m.
