ITS has recently developed new tools to make the Tivoli backup system more user friendly. The first is the Tivoli Alert Monitor. Second, ITS developed the Tivoli Client Initiated Backup (TCIB)and third, ITS developed the Tivoil Backup Status tool (TBS). For more detail see full story.

The maintenance on the web search engine for Baylor University was completed as scheduled. Although this service has been restored, the search engine is going to take some time to re-index all web pages on all of Baylor's web servers.

The blackboard system was down from 10:15 to 11:15pm Friday, July 16 due to issues after applying the Microsoft patches needed for critical system updates.

This follow-up information is in regard to the outage to the voicemail system that occurred on 6/30/2004:

The Voicemail system was reported down sometime after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. The services lost during this outage included:

Loss of menus options: For example, the Help Desk and 1-800 BaylorU Menu choices.
Forwarding to voicemail: For example, Calling someone while they were on the phone gave complete silence instead of the usual busy signal.
