Replacement of some network hardware equipment will be performed at 5:45 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. All ITS services including email and internet will not be accessible during this outage. All services should be restored and operational by 7:00 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Please check the Down Line (710-3696) for updates.

All Baylor employees, students, applicants, and prospects were "switcharoo'd" from a primary ID of social security number to an assigned nine-digit number on May 23. The switch for alumni records came later - in early June.

Maintenance must be performed on all four volumes of ITS email servers that contain all faculty and staff email account information and files. It will require three consecutive nights to complete the process and will be performed between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Saturday, June 19; Sunday, June 20 and Monday, June 21. During this outage, your account will not be accessible.

ITS-Internet Services today launched an improved online telephone directory for use by the general web-browsing public and members of the Baylor campus community. Last year, Baylor announced that the 2003-2004 edition of the University phone directory would be the last printed directory. This enhanced online directory replaces the former printed edition.

One of the main ITS servers (ITS04) will be down on Friday evening, June 11, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM for a hardware upgrade that is related to a power supply issue. Access to the main Baylor website and the Project Office application will be interrupted during this outage.

Recent changes in Baylor's main style sheet, controlling the appearance of text and other elements of the Baylor web site, have increased the default font size for text and links.

In response to user feedback, Baylor's Content Management System (CMS) now features the ability to encrypt pages using standard web technologies and to restrict access to certain portions of a department web site.
