Baylor Exchange data on your BlackBerry is wirelessly synced via a "push technology" from our BES server and is regularly backed up with the ITS Exchange server(s). This data includes your Inbox, Other mail folders, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Calendar, Notes (Memos), Tasks, and Contacts. If you would like to backup your own local data such as saved text messages, game scores, and pictures, ITS recommends that you install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software that ships with your BlackBerry.
Support calls should be placed with the Baylor Help Desk at x4357 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Weekend and after 5:00PM support is not available at this time. However, lost or stolen devices can and need to be reported immediately! If your BlackBerry is lost or stolen during non-working hours please call your supervisor and have him/her get in contact with ITS immediately to report your loss. The sooner ITS knows of your loss the sooner we can take the appropriate measures to protect the data on your BlackBerry. Devices reported stolen or lost can be remotely disabled. There is also a password security feature on your BlackBerry. Password entry attempts in excess of 10 will "wipe" (delete) your BlackBerry data. Also, Baylor owned BlackBerry devices that are in need of replacement due to neglect, loss, or otherwise are at the discretion of the department.
