B.A. Degree in GeographyCourses in geography leading to a bachelor of arts degree provide opportunities for specialization in either physical geography or political geography. Geography courses may also be combined with courses in education for teaching certification. Requirements for a Major in GeographyThirty-five semester hours including the following:
GEOG 1300, (GEOG 1310 or ANT 1305), GEOG 1404, (3395 or 4350), 4485, and (4386 or 4487).
1. African Studies: AFS 3301.
All senior-level candidates must complete the exit exam. Required courses in other fields: S TA 1380.
Recommended electives in other fields include courses from:Anthropology, area studies, foreign languages, history, political science, and sociology.
Requirements for a Minor in GeographyNineteen semester hours including the following:
GEOG 1300, (GEOG 1310 or ANT 1305), GEOG 1404, and GEOG 4385.
