Why Research?
Participating in research activities- whether with a faculty member or on your own, can benefit you in many ways:

  • Active participation in research prepares undergraduates for professional careers and graduate school.
  • Students and faculty have presented their findings at regional and national scientific meetings such as the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, American Chemical Society, Society of Toxicology, and American Society of Limnology and Oceanography.
  • Students routinely publish their work with faculty in top impact journals.
  • Environmental Science faculty members and students often collaborate with each other, and with other faculty members affiliated with the Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research and the Institute of Biomedical Studies.
