Emily Setina, Assistant Professor of English, specializes in twentieth-century literature and the relationship between literature and the visual arts. She is co-editor, with Susannah Hollister, of a new volume of Gertrude Stein's long poem Stanzas in Meditation. She is currently writing about photography's role – as a model, metaphor, and practice – in modernist accounts of the exchange between life and art. Her research and teaching interests include modernism, modern and contemporary poetry and fiction, media studies, biography, and textual criticism. She has ongoing interests too in minor-language writing and travel literature after spending a year after college as a Watson Fellow studying contemporary Celtic-language poetry in Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and France.
