Kara Poe Alexander, Assistant Professor of English in the Professional Writing Program, received the Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville, the M.A. in English, Rhetoric and Composition from Abilene Christian University, and the B.S. in Secondary Education: English, History, and English as a Second Language from Abilene Christian University.

Her teaching interests include courses in advanced composition, first-year composition, and  technical and professional writing. Her research interests include rhetoric and composition, literacy studies, multimodal composition, computer-assisted writing instruction, teaching pedagogies and professional writing.
