Kara Poe Alexander's teaching interests include undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, literacy, professional and technical writing, digital writing, and composition theory and pedagogy. Her research interests include rhetoric and composition, literacy studies, multimodal composition, and community literacy/service-learning.

Kara's work has appeared in College Composition and Communication, Computers and Composition, Composition Studies, Journal of Business and Technical Communication, Composition Forum, Computers and Composition Online, Technical Communication Quarterly, Kairos, Basic Writing eJournal, and several edited collections.

Kara enjoys photography, writing, cooking gourmet dinners, going to the farmer's market, traveling with her husband Shane, leading her church's women's retreat, spending time with her three beautiful children, 1 daughter and 2 sons, and watching Baylor athletics. Sic 'em, Bears!
