South Russell Hall
Dear South Russell women,
We could not be more excited to welcome you to your first year at Baylor University. Our hope and prayer for each of you is that you find South Russell (also known as “SoRo”) to be a place where you can be yourself, learn from others and develop deep, life-long friendships with others who live in the South Russell community. In short, we want this to be a place you proudly call HOME.
There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in your floor community – from weekly hall events, to athletics watch parties, board game nights and movie nights; and plenty of opportunities to help lead and shape the entire SoRo community, through involvement in Russell Council “RoCo” (Hall Leadership Team) which exists to plan all-hall programs and develop various community activities throughout the year. In addition, students living in South Russell this year will have the exclusive opportunity to help us prepare for the School of Education Living Learning Center, which is coming to South Russell in the fall of 2015!
Since South Russell is re-opening this year after being refurbished, our theme for 2014-2015 comes from Isaiah 43:18-19, focusing on the NEW things that God does in our lives: Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
We fully believe He makes all things new – and we cannot wait to see what He has in store for you during your time here in South Russell and at Baylor.
Please know that we are here to assist you in any way possible. We want your living experience to be the best it can possibly be and we are dedicated to making that happen for you, as well as the rest of the South Russell community.
Welcome to the South Russell family!
See you soon,
