Terry Taylor

Terry D. Taylor is Associate Pastor, Worship and Music Ministries at Shades Crest Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Terry was reared in a pastor's home in south central Kentucky. He received his undergraduate degree in Church Music from Belmont University, and a Master's Degree in Church Music with a conducting major from Southern Seminary. Terry is respected widely for his interest, creativity, and leadership in music ministry with children. He is active as a curriculum writer and publisher, conference leader, guest conductor, and music advocate.
After moving to Birmingham in 2009, Terry founded the Shades Crest School of the Arts, and established a free outreach music camp called "GlobeBeat." Terry's leadership has helped Shades Crest Baptist Church enjoy record children's choir enrollments. He is an adjunct music faculty member at Samford University, and serves on the board for The Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University.
While a student at Belmont, Terry met and married Laurie Evans. The Taylors have two young adult children, Carrie Beth and Jeremy, and one grandson, Cayden.
