Assistant Research Faculty, beginning August, 2012.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will support joint research projects within two of CASPER's research groups, the Early Universe, Cosmology & Strings Group (EUCOS) and the Gravity, Cosmology and Astroparticle Group (GCAP). As such, the successful applicant will work primarily with four CASPER Professors. This position is a research position, and carries no teaching responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should hold the Ph.D. and exhibit an exemplary research record in any aspect of Brane/String/M-theory cosmology or a related area. Research faculty and postdocs at all levels, along with recent Ph.D. graduates, are strongly encouraged to apply.

SALARY:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Assistant Director of Research (CASPER)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics and Engineering Research (CASPER) at Baylor University invites application for the open Assistant Director of Research position within the Center. Exceptional applicants who can contribute to CASPER during a time of rapid growth in size, facilities, quality and reputation are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be provided the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Research Professor depending on past experience and answer directly to the Center Director. The position will provide research support and project direction in complex plasma / space plasma / IPG plasma and other related fields. The position will also provide administrative support for projects across all of CASPER and as such, may at times work with almost any of CASPER's faculty or staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will hold the Ph.D. degree and exhibit an exemplary research record in theoretical and/or experimental plasma physics or a related area. Solid administrative skills and a proven ability to work well within a large research team setting are required.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
