Skill & Instructional ClinicsBaylor Challenge Course - High RopesDate: Every Tuesday before April 30Deadline to Register: Register in the SLC by noon on the day of the event Location: Eastland Lakes Times: 3:00pm - 6:00pm Bring: See What to Expect on the Challenge Course Page Cost: Free Min/Max: 0/30 Description: Located approximately 3.5 miles from campus, the Challenge Course is located at the Eastland Lakes Complex. Come out and enjoy selected high elements up and challenge yourself by exploring things like the Screamer, the Power Pole, and Indiana Jones. Almost anyone of any physical ability can participate and experience success. Be sure to check out Driving Directions before you leave! Marrs McLean Gym - Climbing WallDate: Monday-Friday until April 30Deadline to Register: None, just come to the gym! Location: Mars McLean Gym, Room 116 Times: MW 7-10 PM, TTR 5-8 PM, Fri 4-7 PM Bring: Yourself and your smile Cost: Free Description: Are you a regular climber looking for a way to cope with Rock withdrawal? Come on over to Room 116 in the Marrs McLean Gym to keep those climbing muscles strong and ready to kick back into gear when the new Rock is available this April. While you're in Room 116, check out some of the Challenge Course elements. We would love to see your chalky hands and smiling faces. Kayak Roll ClinicsDate: Every other Monday, Beginning February 11thDeadline to Register: Register at the SLC by 5pm the day of the event. Location: Pool in the SLC Times: 6:30pm – 8:30pm Bring: Swimsuit and towel. **Recommended-goggles or nose plug Cost: Free Min/Max: 0/4 Description: Want to build a little confidence in your kayak roll? Join the Baylor University Outdoor Adventure Program for this 2-hour class. The Baylor SLC Pool is the perfect controlled spot to work on the fundamentals of a wet exit and Eskimo Roll. It is indoor and heated. We will provide the kayak, spray skirt, paddle, and PFD. Swimming skills are a prerequisite. Be prepared to get wet! Camping and Backpacking Skills ClinicsDate: WednesdaysDeadline to Register: Register at the SLC by 3pm the day of the event. Locat ion: Meet in the SLC Traditions Lounge Times: 6:00pm - 7:30pm Bring: Yourself Cost: Free Min/Max: 0/13 Description: The Camping and Backpacking Skills Clinic is a weekly hour long session in which we will teach and instruct on many different topics. These topics will include things like tent/tarp setup, backcountry cooking, useful knots, pack fitting, Leave No Trace, and many more. The topics will follow a progression so that each week will build on the one before it. This clinic is designed to accommodate those who are just getting interested in backpacking/camping and those that are seasoned veterans. Feel free to come to all of them or attend the ones you could learn from most.
