#1. Are there tryouts for your team?
Yes, we do have tryouts. We will have a week of open practice so that everyone can get acquainted, followed by a week of official tryouts where those hoping to make the team will be evaluated by the team's leadership during practice. Ultimate team leaders will be looking for hustle, basic ultimate skills, a high engagement level, and potential.
#2. How many days and hours a week do you practice?
We practice 3 days a week. Mondays & Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A total of 7.5 hours/week.
#3. Typically where are your games/ practices held?
Our games and practices are held on the Baylor Intramural Fields and at times on the BSB Fields.
#4. What schools do you compete against? What league are you in?
For the most part, we compete with all schools around Texas. If we attend a big tournament though, we'll compete with schools from out of state. We're in the North Texas Conference of the South Central Region.
#5. What are the dues for this club team?
Dues are $45 normally, or $50 if you want the Baylor disc included. Additionally we do require that members register with USAU (USA Ultimate), and we require that you buy your own jersey, which usually costs around $75. Lastly, on some occasions incidental travel expenses may be incurred.
#6. When is your season? Do you practice in the off-season?
The focus of our season is the Spring, however we practice, travel, and play throughout both semesters of the school year.
#7. Do students need experience to join?
Students do not need experience to join, but it certainly helps. The only real requirements to join are basic athletic ability, a strong interest in Ultimate, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude. We will teach the rest.
