#1. Are there tryouts for your team?
Yes, primary tryouts are held in the fall, but individual tryouts can be arranged if you are interested in the spring.
#2. How many days and hours a week do you practice?
We generally practice 2 - 3 times week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Each practice is anywhere from an hour to 2 hours.
#3. Typically where are your games/practices held?
We play our games in Valley Mills and at Riverbend Park, and our practices are at Riverbend Park and the Waco Sports Academy.
#4. What schools do you compete against? What league are you in?
We compete in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) Division 1 and play in the Gulf Coast North Conference. The other teams in the Gulf Coast North are the University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Tech University. The rest of the Gulf Coast Conference (South and East divisions) is made up of University of Texas, Texas A&M University, University of Texas-San Antonio, San Antonio College, Kingwood College, Victoria College, University of Houston, and Texas State University. We will likely play some of these teams in non-conference tournaments and playoffs.
#5. What are the dues for this club team?
Dues range from $150 to $300 per semester, depending on the amount of fundraising and sponsorship we are able to get.
#6. When is your season? Do you practice in the off-season?
The conference season starts in the spring semester (Early February to Early May, depending on conference success), but we also practice and play a handful of games in the fall semester.
#7. Do students need experience to join?
Ideally, experience is necessary. The overall level of competition various from an above average high school team to a division 3 level team.
