|Description||Dr. Roger Kirk will present his lecture "What I Have Learned Teaching Statistics." Dr. Kirk is a distinguished Professor of Psychology and Statistics at the University. He founded, and for 25 years directed, Baylor's Behavioral Statistics Ph.D. program and the Institute of Statistics, now the Department of Statistical Sciences.
He has published extensively in the areas of statistics, psychoacoustics and human engineering and has authored five statistics books. In recognition of his teaching effectiveness, he was named Outstanding Tenured Teacher in the College of Arts and Sciences in 1993, the same year he was named a Master Teacher, Baylor's highest teaching honor. He has won several other pretigious awards for his contributions to teaching and research.
Dr. Kirk is married to Jane Abbott-Kirk, professor of piano at Baylor.|
