Why Study Abroad?
There is no substitute for the cultural experience gained while studying in another country. Students can use the knowledge from their international travel:
- to better understand the complexities of the global marketplace, and
- to compete in today's business world.
Opportunities for MBA Students
Have you ever thought about working on a real-world technology commercialization project - in China? The i5 program lets you do just that for an entire summer in cities such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xi'an, and Beijing.
The i5 Program, which stands for "Immersion Into International Interdisciplinary Innovation", creates an environment for students to develop science and technology insight, business savvy and global cultural competence.
MBA students lead interdisciplinary, cross-cultural teams on challenging consulting projects for client companies. As team leaders, they learn to deal with ambiguity, high pressure situations, and conflict resolution.
In partnership with Northrise University, located in Ndola, Zambia, Baylor MBA students lead of team of business students from Northrise to examine a business challenge for a sponsoring company in Zambia.
The students could develop a business strategy, assess target markets, propose operational improvements, perform risk analysis, and/or target opportunities for business growth.
After two weeks, Baylor students depart Zambia and continue to coordinate the projects from the United States. Students travel to Zambia between late May and mid-June, leaving time to pursue an MBA internship during the remaining months of summer.
For two weeks, students tour Costa Rica, gaining insight from experts about the contemporary challenges Costa Rica faces.
