MBA Leadership Summit

All MBA students participate in the Baylor Leadership Summit, an off-campus educational experience, as part of their Career Development Courses.

The one-week trip takes place during the fall semester. In October 2012, students traveled to New York City and met with corporate leaders from top financial companies and highly-rated speakers from successful entrepreneurial companies.

Prep for the Experience

Prior to the trip, students read Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing to gain an understanding of personal challenge. They also research each company and speaker they will meet and prepare questions for each session.

Interact with Executives

One day was dedicated to working directly with corporate executives. Students divided into small groups and partnered with a specific company to work on a case study. The respective companies identified specific issues they were facing and asked the students to analyze the situation and to provide ideas on how to resolve the issue.

Partnering companies included Adecco, Aviva Investors, Broadway League, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Samlyn Capital, and a small restaurant Good Enough to Eat.

Give Back to the Community

Baylor students believe in giving back wherever they travel. While in New York City, students volunteered their time and business knowledge with Defy Ventures.
