MBA Focus Firm Project
Focus Firm provides a singular opportunity for students to gain real-world business experience handling real-world problems. Rather than simply going over cases or running through simulations, Baylor offers MBA students an inside view of an actual company with real-time issues by partnering with an individual corporation through a semester long Focus Firm course.
At the start of the semester, executives from the featured semester company, confer with student teams to discuss the company's goals and culture. From there, students gain access to contacts in the organization and spend the next 15 weeks of the semester researching specific company mandated projects; developing their team responses; and finally recommending viable project perspectives through presentations.
In previous semesters, teams have worked with companies like Continental Airlines, Briggs and Stratton, 3M and Dell providing them with insights into everything from potential mergers and acquisitions to strategies for implementing new technology.
