Welcome

Baylor Round Table is an organization consisting of faculty women and female staff with executive benefits and the wives of faculty and wives of staff with executive benefits. The purpose is to promote the social and cultural life of Baylor University. Monthly meetings are held September-May and smaller interest groups also meet throughout the year. Each year the Baylor Round Table donates a scholarship to a deserving Baylor student.

Our theme for 2014-2015 will be Celebrating Baylor: Catch the Spirit!

Celebrating Baylor Round Table… Join as we work together to enhance community building through social, cultural, and service opportunities. We will share our varied interests and attend special lectures and presentations while enjoying Baylor’s rich Christian heritage and traditions of giving back to the community and to our students through scholarship.

The Baylor Round Table Scholarship, awarded annually, provides an opportunity to make a difference in a Baylor student’s educational experience and future. Our contributions to this fund, which can be made as tributes, memorials, and/or special gifts, are an investment in Baylor’s future, because our students are our future.

Baylor Round Table…Join today, connect for a lifetime!

Christmas Concert in Armstrong Browning

Celebrate the Christmas season at the Baylor Round Table Christmas program and luncheon on December 9, 2014 at Armstrong Browning Library. At 11:30 am, the Chamber Singers will bring their wonderful music and lunch is at 12:00 pm in the Cox Reception Hall. We have had a tremendous growth in membership this year (which is great!) and since we have a seating limit in the Foyer of Meditation, you MUST RSVP this year if you wish to attend the program and luncheon. You may RSVP here. This year the program and luncheon is a Round Table member-only. Should you have forgotten whether you have already RSVP’d or not, please contact Carol Schuetz (710-4410 or carol_carson@baylor.edu) to check. If you are driving to Armstrong Browning Library for the program, we have a parking area reserved for members to park in. The parking lot across 8th Street from Armstrong Browning Library has been reserved for our use that day. Orange parking cones have it marked off and a parking attendant will be present to direct you into the lot. We hope to see many of you there for a celebration of the holiday season and some good fellowship.

Plan now for the largest ever Baylor Round Table Scholarship Christmas Silent Auction and say "WOW!"

The holidays are mere weeks away; but to find that very special, one-of-a-kind gift, you don’t have to look any further than the upcoming Baylor Round Table Silent Auction to be held in conjunction with the Baylor Round Table Christmas Program. On Tuesday, December 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., join your Round Table friends in the Treasure Room at Armstrong Browning Library for this year’s "WOW-factor" shopping extravaganza! The Scholarship Committee, in collaboration with the Baylor and Waco communities, has provided an amazing array of auction items that will bestow beautiful memories in your own home or in the homes of your friends and loved ones. Plus, ALL PROCEEDS from each item purchased will go to benefit the Baylor Round Table Endowed Scholarship in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of Baylor students.

We encourage everyone to bring your checkbook or credit card with you to the Treasure Room and place your bid(s) on the unique items on display on December 9. With the auction opening this year at 9:00 a.m., there will be more time to shop before the Christmas program begins, as well as additional time to bid following the luncheon. And for the first time, should your schedule not permit you to join in the on-site festivities on auction day, you will be able to participate in proxy bidding. A complete list of all auction items [including the item description, donor(s), item values, minimum bids for each item, bidding increments for each item, and photos] appear at Silent Auction 2014. For those members who will not be in attendance, you may submit your maximum bid(s) for the item(s) you desire (by auction item number and name) via email to Paulette_Edwards@baylor.edu AND to Amber_Thompson@baylor.edu between December 3-8, and your bid will be placed for you via that particular item’s bidding increments up to your maximum [see full details on Website]. If you are interested in bidding by proxy on a gift basket, you can also e-mail for a list of the basket items. Should you be the winning bidder for any given item via proxy, the item(s) will be delivered to you on auction day or your next earliest day of availability, and full payment will be due at the time of delivery.

Round Table 2013-2014 Scholarship Recipient

Judy Maggard, chair of the Scholarship Committee with committee members, Shelley Brooks, Kathy Hillman, Carol McCulloch and Jeanette Rudd are pleased to announce the selection of Amber Reese, a junior psychology major from Abilene, Texas to receive the Baylor Round Table Scholarship for 2013-2014.

Amber is an outstanding student in the classroom and is involved in Best Buddies, Up Til Dawn, Baylor Buddies, Phi Theta and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars. She has spent the spring 2013 semester studying in the Netherlands with the Baylor in Maastricht program.

Round Table Interest Groups

Interest groups are a vital part of Round Table. These groups provide opportunities for women across all parts of the Baylor family to meet on a regular basis in a common interest. These gatherings are where you get to know each other in a more intimate setting. Some of these groups meet monthly, and others meet occasionally during the year, and some are just a one-time event. (read more about this year's interest groups here)
