Classics

What it's all about

In Classics you will study the ancient Mediterranean, particularly the languages, literatures and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome. The learning of Greek and Latin, the first step in such inquiry, forms the core of an undergraduate education in Classics. At the same time, the major encourages broad, interdisciplinary exploration of antiquity, including a wide range of elective opportunities in art, history, philosophy and religion. Classics has been a Baylor academic tradition since the University's founding, and the department is proud to preserve and promote this heritage.

• Medical Terminology
• Principles of Classical Studies

Graduates of this major go on to:

• attend graduate school in any number of fields such as such as archaeology, English, history, linguistics, philosophy, political science, and religion
