In coordination with recruiting and retaining a world-class faculty, Baylor will recruit a student body of high academic merit, Christian character, commitment to service and potential for leadership. We will seek students from a range of backgrounds to enrich our community and, through scholarships and other forms of support, will further enhance Baylor's student profile at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Original Goals to Achieve Imperative IV

• Recruit students with strong academic records and characters consistent with Baylor's mission
• Increase freshman retention rate from 83 percent to 93 percent
• Enhance the general endowed scholarship fund
• Expand freshman seminars to ease the transition from high school to college
• Strengthen academic standards for admissions to be consistent with those at competing Tier One Institutions
• Create an Academic Success Center
