04/08/2014  Dr. Ellen Davis - "Abraham and the Origin of Intercessory Prayer" (40:13)
This week, for the Wilson-Addis Endowed Lecture, we welcomed Dr. Ellen F. Davis to the pulpit. Dr. Davis currently serves as the Amos Ragan Kearns Distinguished Professor of Bible and Practical Theology at Duke Divinity School. The title for her lecture is: "Abraham and the Origin of Intercessory Prayer."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed J. Brent Walker to the pulpit. He currently serves as the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, and is both a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar and an ordained minister. The title for his sermon is: "Four Centuries of Fighting for Religious Liberty" and is drawn from Acts 4:18-20 & Galatians 5:1.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Truett alumna Jamie McCallum to the pulpit. She currently serves as the Associate Pastor to Youth & Congregational Life at First Baptist Church, Waco, TX. The title for her sermon is: "The Users and the Used" and is drawn from John 6:25-35.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Tonya Vickery to the pulpit. The title for her sermon is: "Leave the Jug Behind" and is drawn from John 4:5-52. Rev. Tonya Vickery and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Vickery, are our Co-Pastors of the Day. They serve together as the pastors of Cullowhee Baptist Church in Cullowhee, NC.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. William Carrell to the pulpit. Dr. Carrell is Professor of Christian Ministry and Director of Church Relations at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The title for his sermon is: "Facing the Futility, Holding the Hope" and is drawn from Romans 8:18-25.

This week at our Community Gathering for Worship we welcomed Travis Cottrell, presenter of the Spring 2014 Hearn Music Innovator Series at Baylor University. He currently serves as Worship Pastor at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN, and for the last fifteen years he has served as worship leader at Beth Moore?s Living Proof Live conferences.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Pike Wisner to the pulpit. Rev. Wisner serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Tyler, TX. The title for his sermon is: "The Simple Life of the Minister" and is drawn from Micah 6:6-8 and Matthew 11:28-30.

01/21/2014  Rev. Dr. Harry Blake - Community Gathering for Worship (22:56)
This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed the Rev. Dr. Harry Blake the pulpit. Dr. Blake was the first field secretary of the Southern Christian Leadership Movement in the 1960s, under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He currently serves as pastor of the Mount Canaan Baptist Church in Louisiana.
