Campus Living & Learning understands the growing importance of safety issues to both Baylor students and parents. The immediate physical safety and security of resident students, guests, staff, and other customers is our most imperative and basic concern.
Effective January 1, 2012, all new students under the age of 30 must show proof of meningococcal vaccination within the last 5 years according to Texas state law in order to attend class. Follow this link for more information.
Safety & Security Education Officers (SSEOs)
SSEOs move freely in and around residential communities between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. seven days a week interacting and building relationships with students, confronting and reporting unacceptable behavior, checking that all exit doors are secure, reporting lighting and other safety issues, and alerting the Baylor Police Department about any suspicious behavior. Carrying cell phones, SSEOs are available throughout each night and are a significant resource for resident students. Click here for SSEO contact information.
SSEOs operate a golf cart shuttle service with a limited campus radius. The service provides residents with a ride from one point on campus to another, as long as one of the points is a residential community (except University Parks Apartments). Feel free to study at the library until 2 a.m. knowing that one of our staff members will be happy to escort you back to your residence hall or apartment. Call the SSEO Shuttle at 254.265.0690. Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the golf cart, it cannot operate in inclement weather or cross major roads (La Salle and University Parks Dr.).
Baylor Parking and Transportation operates an After Hours Shuttle that operates Monday-Thursday, 6:30pm-1:30am. This shuttle provides afterhours service to University Parks Apartments. Check the Baylor Shuttle web page at www.baylor.edu/bus for updates and shuttle routes.
