WACO, Texas (April 30, 2012) - One of Baylor's own will participate in a student version of "Project Runway," a reality contest television show featuring designers creating new fashions within time constraints, when Kaylyn Smith, a senior apparel design and product development Baylor student from Austin, travels to Salt Lake City, Utah, for "Project OR."

WACO, Texas (April 27, 2012) - Dr. Gary Elkins, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Baylor University, has received the 2012 Complementary and Integrative Medicine Investigator Research Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine. The award was given in recognition of Dr. Elkins' research into an innovative use of hypnosis for reducing hot flashes among post-menopausal women.

WACO, Texas (April 25, 2012) --The ability to navigate using spatial cues was impaired in mice whose brains were minus a channel that delivers potassium -- a finding that may have implications for humans with damage to the hippocampus, a brain structure critical to memory and learning, according to a Baylor University researcher.

WACO, Texas (April 10, 2012) - One hundred years after Arthur Eldred of New York earned the first Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America, researchers with Baylor University's Institute for Studies of Religion (ISR) and Program on Prosocial Behavior have released findings from a nationwide, scientific survey that demonstrates the significant, positive impact Eagle Scouts have on society - from holding leadership positions in their workplace and neighborhood to voting and volunteering to protecting the environment and being prepared for emergencies.
