Responsibilities for Youth Ministries:
Responsible for all youth ministry during Sunday mornings and evenings
Responsible for all youth ministry on Wednesday evenings
Recruit and train adult volunteers to assist in youth ministry for all meetings
Develop, implement and update annually a Youth Ministry Plan
Develop a Resource Team – a team of adults who help acquire resources for youth
ministry (transportation, food, supplies, swimming areas, recreation areas, etc.)
Set goals with a leadership team consistent with the church mission statement
Train youth leaders, organize, administer, develop leaders, coordinate youth in
ministries to involve them in missions/service, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship and
worship
Coordinate all aspects of youth ministry with clergy, other staff and other ministries so
as not to overlap use of facilities (calendar planning/staff meetings)
Coordinate all aspects of youth ministry with the Director of Children and Family
Ministries
Transition confirmands into the youth group during their 6 th grade year and focus on
involving them in the youth group in 7 th grade so we dothey are not loste them induring
transition
Plan, conduct and help coordinate mission trips and/or events (i.e. UM ARMY/Summer
Youth Camp/other)
Communicate (website, mail, newsletters, text, social media) with all
staff/parents/youth in a timely and professional manner
