Churchill Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a Pastor at a time when it is well positioned for growth and innovative ministry. The desired candidate will work alongside church elders to provide spiritual leadership and to develop a compelling vision and plan to carry out the church mission. The ideal candidate would have a heart for all people with a focus on families and the next generation. He should be willing and available to coordinate with our Spanish Congregation, Churchill En Espanol. The pastor will be expected to be guided in personal behavior by the scriptural standards detailed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Titus 1:6-9.

The Pastor is expected to:
Proclaim the Word of God as the primary teacher of Scripture
Preach Sunday services, teach Wednesday Bible studies, and conduct other services as agreed upon by the board of Elders
Instruct, inspire, and enable the church to grow spiritually, seek the salvation of the lost, and nurture the saved
Oversee the corporate worship of the congregation, serve as leader of the staff, and ensure the day-to-day ministries are conducted properly
Provide pastoral care to the congregation
Lead by example
Cultivate a positive spirit throughout the church family
Enable the staff and congregation to fulfill the vision and mission of the church
Work closely with the Elders to seek God’s will in an effort to ensure the spiritual welfare, direction, and unity of the church.
Acts as the “first among equals” within the pastor /elder relationship

The Pastor must:
Have obtained a minimum of a Master’s graduate degree from an accredited seminary.
Be an Ordained and Licensed Minister.
Have experience serving in pastoral ministry (6-10 years pref.).
Experience as a Senior Pastor (preferred). Experience managing staff in a church setting is also preferred.
Adhere to the highest ethical and moral expectations of followers of Jesus Christ as expressed in the Holy Bible
