Minister of Youth (Part-Time)

First Baptist Church - Hewitt

The Minister of Youth will seek to carry out the mission of First Hewitt by leading 6th-12th graders to know and become fully devoted followers of Jesus. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for Christ and a unique ability to relate, communicate, reach, disciple, and shepherd students.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the minister to students in 6th-12th grade.
2. Develop a youth culture that is grounded in prayer, dedicated to God’s Word, relationally
formed, and missionally motivated.
3. Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of ministry to 6th-12th graders. This includes ministries
on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, mid-week, and special events.
4. Serve as the primary leader and visionary for the Youth Ministry Team. This includes working
with parents and key adult to establish a strategic ministry plan for the youth.
5. Organize and oversee the Sunday morning experience for students. Provide leadership in the
selection of curriculum, outreach, and care for students involved in our Sunday Morning Bible
Studies.
6. Plan and implement Sunday evening discipleship ministry that encourages students to grow in
faith while deepening relationships with one another.
7. Organize, develop, and lead an effective mid-week gathering for youth. This may include
worship, teaching, and assisting with logistics for the Wednesday night study.
8. Intentionally find ways to build relationships with students outside of Wednesday or Sunday
nights. (This could include campus visits, attending extracurricular events, meeting students for
coffee or lunch, anything to build healthy relationships…)
