Position Summary:
The Senior Pastor is responsible for leading the entire church to function as a New Testament Church balancing worship, ministry, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism. He is to set an example in life, love, faith and purity.
Our Senior Pastor, David Lindow, Jr., has faithfully served our church for 32 years and is preparing for his retirement. Our search team is looking for the next Senior Pastor, who will come on staff as the Senior Pastor Elect and serve alongside our Senior Pastor for a 10-12 month transition time that will prepare our church and the Senior Pastor Elect for a successful transition.
Church profile:
First Baptist Church of Universal City, Texas is located in the San Antonio area. The church currently ministers to families through two worship services (Blended and Contemporary) and two Sunday Schools on Sunday mornings. Church size is 1150 in Worship and 1050 in Sunday School.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Training – The Senior Pastor should have a college and master’s degree in divinity or its equivalent.
• Experience – It is desirable that the Senior Pastor Elect has successfully served as a senior pastor for at least 5 years and has experience in a larger church setting that is comparable to ours.
