Principal Function
The Student Pastor will be an individual who has received a call to ministry and specifically the ministry to students. The Student Pastor will be responsible to the Pastor for the development and promotion of the student ministries of the church.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate the student ministries of the church through the student ministry program organizations of the church.
2. Work with student ministry volunteers to provide a program that will lead the students to a knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ and develop them in the Christian faith and discipleship.
3. Lead in planning and conducting special student ministry activities and programs appropriate for the spiritual growth of students including retreats, conferences, camps, fellowships, mission trips, and other activities.
4. Coordinate the work of student ministry with the music and fellowship programs of the church.
5. Promote a regular program of outreach for the student ministry in copperation with the overall church program of outreach.
6. Assist in planning the annual budget for the needs of student ministry and administer the approved budget for the needs of student ministry.
7. Keep informed of new materials, programs, curriculum, and educational methods as related to the student ministry.
8. Provide counsel for students in matters related to their spiritual life and other concerns.
9. Maintain personal contact with students by visiting with families, visiting school campuses and attending school activities and events.
10. Work with the other churches in Eldorado in ministering to the needs of students and getting them involved in a local church.
