Truett Weekly Worship 4.21.20

April 21, 2020
From Truett Worship Coordinator MacKenzie Rock:

Good morning, Truett Family. I trust that you have come through another week in this pandemic. Praise God. For our time this morning, I would like to offer just a brief word for your reflection. This morning, I have chosen the song "Defender." The chorus of this song says:

Hallelujah, You have saved me
It's so much better this way
Hallelujah, You have saved me
It's so much better Your way

These words have been my heart song for the past few days. In all candor, this season of life has been more than difficult for my family and me. So many things have transpired in our lives, but one thing has never changed. God, through his Son and by the power of the his Holy Spirit, saved me. Ultimately, God has saved my family. Though we are more than a week out from celebrating Easter, the fact still remains—Our God is still risen and reigning. Through his suffering we have been allowed to enter into an eternally intimate relationship with our God who saves. Sickness, tragedy, unexpected news does not and cannot change the fact that our God has made a way for our salvation through Jesus who is the Way of salvation, the Truth of salvation, and the Life that is had in salvation.

These are all the words I know how to muster up this morning. Our God saves. He is still saving. Would you ask God to save you this morning from whatever it is that is consuming you? Spend time listening and resting in Christ Jesus as you move on through another week in a “new normal.”

“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” Titus 3:4-7
