Truett Seminary's faculty are renowned for their excellence in teaching, their passion for the student body, and their exceptional body of publications. However, they are also known around the state of Texas and beyond for their commitment to the Church. Our faculty are leaders in church and missions. Not only do they teach the students of Truett Seminary what it means to be women and men of God who are called to serve the church, they lead by example.


Seminar-Style Classes

Truett Professor

The seminar-style classes offered at Truett allow for rich dialogue and deep engagement between classmates who learn from and alongside the professor. Every student brings a unique perspective and worldview to the classroom. The seminar-style classes at Truett allow students to interact deeply with one another and study the material in an on-going conversation of growth and learning. The student to professor ratio at Truett is 15:1, meaning small class sizes that are conducive for meaningful dialogue.


Mission-Focused Curriculum

Truett's mission is to equip God-called people for gospel ministry, and the Seminary's curriculum is built around this purpose. Students take courses in theology, Scriptures, practical ministry, and preaching. They read primary sources, hearing directly from significant figures like Augustine, Ignatius, Martin Luther, John Wesley, Barth, Yoder, and more of the theologians and scholars who have shaped our past and influenced the present and future of theological study. Truett students complete an apprenticeship with an accomplished mentor and are encouraged to cultivate lifelong learning habits and continued professional development.

While Truett is dedicated to providing a spiritually engaging and academically rigorous residential experience, the Seminary also offers online classes and an extension campus in Houston to make theological education more accessible.
