Bill Walker, PhD, serves as Truett’s Assistant Director of Spiritual Formation, coordinating and helping to oversee the Covenant Group and Spiritual Formation programs at the Seminary. He also assists Dr. Angela Reed with the leadership of the Spiritual Direction Training course and teaches theology and ethics at Truett and Baylor. Bill earned his BBA from Baylor, his MDiv from Truett, and his PhD in Philosophy of Religion and Theology from Claremont Graduate University. He served as the Associate Pastor at St. Peter's Church in Charleston, South Carolina, and was a Lecturer in Christian Ethics at the University of the Incarnate Word before joining the Truett staff in June 2017.
Bill’s first book, Globalization, Salvation and the Church: An Ecclesial Political Theology for the U.S.-Mexico Drug War, will be published in 2019 with Lexington-Fortress Press. He attends Dayspring Baptist Church, and in his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, movies, surfing, disc golf, trail running, and snow skiing. Bill and his wife Whitney have a son Liam and a little one on the way.
