Rev. J. David Tate
David has served as a bi-vocational minister since 2005. He started as a lay-leader in church while working in the IT industry, and then was called to non-profit ministry where he gradually worked up to Executive Director. He would eventually also serve as a pastor for several years before being selected to run the Certificate of Ministry program at Truett Seminary.
David was an endowed academic scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Houston Baptist University with a BA in Business and Speech Communications. He also has a Master of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University where he was a CBF Leadership Scholar and received the Robert Jackson Robinson Award. A sampling of his preaching can be viewed at jdavidtate.com.
Aside from his church lay-leader and pastoral experience, he has 8 years of experience in Information Technology, 10 years in non-profit ministry, as well as 16 years experience running his own photography business.

Jonathan Balmer is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Truett Seminary and is a part of our Certificate Team. In addition to his work in the Certificate Program, he is also currently the Minister of Youth at Seventh & James Baptist Church in Waco, Texas.
Originally from Mason, Ohio, Jonathan graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from Georgetown College and has studied abroad at Oxford University's Regent's Park College in the United Kingdom and the Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina in Brazil (studying in Portuguese).
Before seminary, Jonathan taught high school English and Journalism in Frankfort, Kentucky, and middle school ESL through Fulbright Korea in Uiseong, Gyeongsanbuk-do, South Korea.
After seminary, he hopes to serve the local church in a pastoring or associate support role, and with his strong pastoral heart and keen theological mind, we are glad to have Jonathan on our team.
Madison Harner is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Truett Seminary and is a part of our Certificate Team. In addition to her work in the Certificate Program, she is also Pastoral Associate at DaySpring Baptist Church in Waco, Texas.
Madison was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and received her Associate of Arts in General Studies from the College of Southern Nevada. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Life Education from the University of Central Oklahoma where she graduated magna cum laude.
Madison has been involved in different aspects of ministry her entire life. She has served with children in nursery and Sunday School, spent time in the church as both a Youth Intern and a Family Ministry Intern, and participated in summer camps as a student and sponsor. Additionally, she has served on international and domestic mission trips, including to Peru and Honduras.
After seminary Madison feels called to serve the local church in a pastoring or associate role, and with her strong pastoral spirit of service and fantastic teaching abilities, we are thankful to have her as part of our team.
