Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, is prayerfully seeking a full-time Interim Student Minister to lead our student ministry with biblical truths with direction of God's Holy Spirit.
SHBC offers two Sunday services with an average in person attendance of over 400 before the COVID pandemic and Bible study for all age groups. Worship attendance is returning as May 2, 2021 attendance was 328. The mission of SHBC—to know the love of God and to share it with others—is accomplished through regular worship services, Bible studies, children and student focused activities, home community groups and an active and well-attended early learning center.
The Interim Student Minister will be responsible for the development and implementation of all areas of the student ministry (grades 6-12). With a goal to effectively help students and their families learn about and experience the love of God, grow in personal faith and actively participate in sharing the gospel, the ideal candidate will be able to oversee selection and implementation of curriculum, interact successfully with other staff members and volunteers and to create a welcoming and safe environment for the Students. Must be able to manage all ministry areas including planning, budgeting and communicating.
About The Position
SHBC is seeking a full-time Interim Student Minister that can lead and motivate our students during an extended period without a Senior Pastor. Prior student experience is required (ie: student minister or intern, camp counselor, etc.) Bachelor’s degree preferred. Successful candidate may be considered for permanent a position once a senior pastor is in place.
