News & Events

Truett Seminary alumnus Dr. Dan Bellamy (MDiv ’06, DMin ‘15) is fulfilling his call to ministry in a unique and interesting way. Bellamy—known as "Dr. Dan"—is the founder of Inflatable Stories, through which he creates balloon sculptures to share the gospel with audiences nationwide. Though he long felt both his call to ministry and his passion for balloon art, it wasn’t until recently that God brought the two together in the form of Inflatable Stories.
Many of those pursuing theological education through Truett Seminary’s online Certificate Program are bi-vocational ministers who are not able to attend seminary as full-time students. It was with these students in mind that the Certificate Program’s new preaching course was designed.

The 12 most effective preachers in the English-speaking world have been identified in a survey by the Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Scholars of homiletics made the selections from nearly 800 nominees.
