Spotlight: Japan 2020

In line with guidance from Baylor University’s leadership, the Spotlight: Japan 2020 planning committee has cancelled all performances and public events planned for this week.

While we at Baylor feel a deep and profound sense of loss over fully-realized projects that will not be completed and performances and events that will not be shared, keeping you -- our audience -- and our students, faculty, and staff safe is our priority.

Thank you for your patience, grace, and understanding during this unusual time.

Baylor University is excited to host Spotlight: Japan 2020, a week-long celebration of Japanese art, culture, and history from March 23 - 29, 2020, sponsored by the Departments of Art and Art History, Theatre Arts, and Modern Languages and Cultures (Japanese), as well as the Martin Museum of Art, the School of Music, and the Hankamer School of Business.

Spotlight: Japan 2020 will include an exhibition of Japanese prints at the Martin Museum of Art, a production of Okada Toshiki’s Enjoy by the Department of Theatre Arts, and numerous additional lectures and events by guest artists and Japan scholars. Spotlight: Japan 2020 is partially funded with generous support from The Japan Foundation New York and is sponsored in cooperation with the Global Business Forum.
