Alexander Kostadinov

Alexander was born in Varna, Bulgaria and began his formative musical training at age four. His instructors include Boyan Batchvarov, Tamara Poddubnaya, and Krassimira Jordan. He recently graduated with his masters in music from Baylor University. Alexander has won several prestigious international competitions including first prize at the “Joseph Dichler Piano Competition” in Vienna, grand prix at the “Amici del Pianoforte Competition” in Venice, grand prix at the “Competition for Slavic Music” in Moscow, first prize at the Italian International Concerto Competition in Rome, Third Prize at the “LISMA piano competition” and many more. Furthermore, he received several awards during his music education such as the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Achievements from Baylor University, the Gladys Calder Stinson Award to the Outstanding Undergraduate Performer in Piano, and a special award from the mayor of Varna, Bulgaria for highest musical achievements.

Alexander has also performed with orchestras around the world including Varna State Orchestra, Sofia Soloists, and Baylor Symphony. Alexander has received coaching from musicians including Natalia Troull, Dmitry Alexeev, Fulvio Turissini, Chantal Stigliani, Victor Chuchkov, Marina Horak, Atanas Kurtev, Michel Beroff, Tatyana Levitina, and Alexander Semitsky. This past summer Alexander went on a piano duo tour to Hong Kong and Malaysia.
