Cooper Sivara, who recently received his MFA in Directing from Baylor University after directing Joan Ackermann's Ice Glen for his thesis production, is incredibly excited to be returning to Baylor Theatre as a Visiting Lecturer. Originally from Los Angeles, Cooper received a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television. He then went on to become the Co-Artistic Director of Ark Theatre Company in Los Angeles and taught acting at Theatre of Arts in Hollywood. Other favorite directing credits include Grand Concourse by Heidi Schreck, Honeymoon in Vegas by Jason Robert Brown, and The First Celestial Adventure of Mr. Antipyrine, Fire Extinguisher by Tristian Tzara. Cooper has trained with Anne Bogart and SITI Company in the Viewpoints and the Suzuki Method, as well as in Japanese Nō performance at Kyoto Art Center. He looks forward to continuing to explore Japanese theatre, ensemble creation, devised work, and physical theatre techniques with the students of Baylor Theatre.
