Traditions Rally is a free, community-wide celebration held each year before the Bears kick off their first home game. The Traditions Rally includes a Baylor football pep rally with the Golden Wave Marching Band, spirit squads, Coach Rhule and members of the Bears 2017 football team, concert and a fireworks show to close out the celebration.
At the heart of Traditions Rally are numerous spirit traditions. Each fall, on the night before the home football opener, returning students gather along with new students to celebrate Baylor's rich heritage and athletic and spirit traditions. It is on this night that the torch is officially passed to new students as bearers of the Baylor spirit and legacy. To honor this transition of one class to another, all students are encouraged to wear their Baylor Line jerseys to Traditions Rally.

With “Take It All Back” spending three weeks at No. 1 on Alternative Radio Top 10 and hitting Top 15 at Hot AC, Judah & the Lion are making strides. Their summer tour will hit 58 cities in four months, headlining with Incubus, Jimmy Eat World and Twenty One Pilots.
With the recent release of their second full-length album, Folk Hop N Roll, Judah & the Lion has become one of Nashville’s most genre-bending bands. The record offers wide-ranging tracks with fuzz bass, hip-hop percussion, banjo riffs and super-sized melodies, creating a sound that belongs entirely to them.
“This record was made for the live show,” says lead vocalist Judah Akers, who shares the stage with drummer Spencer Cross, mandolin player Brian Macdonald, banjo wiz Nate Zuercher, rhythm guitarist and accordion player Dylan Oglesby and pianist Daniel Weatherby. “Our shows are all about the experience we share with our fans. We know that people work everyday jobs or go to school, and they’re dealing with life, and yet they’re still choosing to spend the night with us. We don’t take that lightly. We give them an experience. All the songs are made with that in mind. They’re fun, carefree and youthful, and we live our lives that way too.”
Their debut record, Like Kids These Days, climbed to number four on the Billboard Folk Chart and number two on the genre-wide Heatseekers chart after its release in 2014.
The IFC All-Student Tailgate is a cornerstone of the Traditions Rally experience. Student IDs are required for entry into the area and for free tailgate fare. All students are asked to wear Slime Caps and Line Jerseys. For more information on IFC click here or email IFC@baylor.edu.
