A team led by a Baylor University researcher has published a breakthrough article that provides a better understanding of the dynamic process by which sunlight-induced DNA damage is recognized by the molecular repair machinery in cells as needing repair. Ultraviolet light from the sun is a ubiquitous carcinogen, and failure to remove and restore damage can have detrimental outcomes, including skin cancer. Jung-Hyun Min, Ph.D., associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry in Baylor's College of Arts & Sciences, is lead author of the study, published in the journal Nucleic Acids Research.

I-35 Northbound Mainlane Traffic to Temporarily Share Southbound Lanes

WACO, Texas (July 15, 2019) – As crews update drainage features along the I-35 corridor as part of the reconstruction project, traffic will be shifted Tuesday, July 16, at 7 p.m., weather permitting, from the I-35 northbound mainlanes to the southbound lanes from 4th Street to 18th Street for approximately two months. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes in each direction during this time and all exits will remain open.
