Bearathon Course Information

 

The Bearathon (Half Marathon)

 

Start Time: 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019. 

End time: 12:00 p.m. (allowing for 18 minute/mile pace)

The course of the Bearathon starts and finishes at McLane stadium and will highlight the new Rosenbalm Fountain on Bayor’s campus, the Suspension Bridge, Cameron Park and the Brazos river. It will provide a scenic and challenging course for participants.

Timing chips will be used for an accurate measure of the time and hard work you put in the course. If improper care takes places of the timing chip, you may not receive results. As such, be sure to follow proper instruction. Moreover, if you choose not to wear a chip (i.e. your bib) you cannot be considered for an awards and will not be included in any results.

All Bearathon half marathon finishers will receive a finishers shirt and a medal.

Awards:  Open Division (overall) winners (both male and female) of the half marathon will be awarded $500 for first place, $400 for second place, and $300 for third place.  Prize money ($300 first place, $200 second place, $100 third place) will be also awarded to the top three male and female finishers in three (3) other divisions: Baylor Student Division, Baylor Faculty & Staff Division, and Master's Division (ages 40+).  

In addition, engraved gold Bearathon medals will be mailed to the top three male and female finishers in the following divisions of the Bearathon half marathon race:  Baylor students, 15-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.

Spectator Areas are located along the half marathon course near Moody Library, the Suspension Bridge, and at Lover's Leap.  Just refer to the 2019 Race Day Guide for more information.  Please consider cheering on race participants from one of these places along the course!

 

 

The Sic 'Em 6K

 

Start Time: 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019. 

End time: 12:00 p.m. 

The Sic 'Em 6K run starts and ends at McLane Stadium – the same location as the Bearathon – and will feature the Baylor University campus and surrounding area of McLane Stadium.
