Student Foundation scholarships change lives. Every year, Student Foundation members volunteer hours to raise funds for student scholarships so current and future students can enjoy the Baylor experience. Through personal visits with alumni, the Bearathon (half-marathon and 6K), Homecoming Parade Grandstands, and other fundraising efforts, Student Foundation was able to award nearly 100 scholarships last year.
Join us in providing much-needed scholarship support by making your gift today or making an appointment to visit with a current Student Foundation member. If you would like to schedule a visit with our members, please email the Alumni Relations Co-Chairs, Kiersten Aalfs, Bella Chavez or Harrison White, or email us at StudentFoundation@baylor.edu.
There are two types of gifts to Student Foundation scholarships: current scholarships and endowed scholarships.
Contributions to the Student Foundation Scholarship Fund will be used to meet needs within the current fiscal year. Current gifts to Student Foundation provide immediate benefits to students when the scholarships are awarded at the Spring Scholarship Banquet.
Gifts to endowed funds make a permanent impact because the initial gift remains in the endowment while a portion of the earnings is used to provide a scholarship to a deserving student. All gifts to any Student Foundation Endowment Fund support our scholarships. You may choose to support the Student Foundation Golden Anniversary Endowed Scholarship Fund or any existing named Student Foundation Endowment Fund on our main online giving page
Alumni and friends may wish to create a new endowed scholarship fund in your name or as a tribute to a friend or loved one. You may fund your endowment over a specified period of time, and when the fund reaches $50,000, it will begin providing assistance to Baylor students. For more information on this option, you may contact Mr. Jordan Hannah, the Troy and Betty Mays Director of Student Foundation by calling 254-710-3498 or emailing Jordan_Hannah@baylor.edu or contacting University Advancement at 254-710-2561.
