Dr. Sharra Hynes acts as the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students in the Division of Student Life. Dr. Hynes oversees the “student-facing” departments of Campus Living and Learning, New Student Programs, Student Activities, and Student Conduct. Dr. Hynes has executive experience in many of the areas she will be overseeing as well as Assessment, Program Planning, Fiscal Management, and Leadership.
Dr. Hynes comes to Baylor from the University of Central Oklahoma, where she served for seven years. She has also served professional roles at Texas A & M University, Houghton College, and George Fox University. She earned her undergraduate degree from Houghton College, her master’s degree from Alfred University, and her Doctor of Philosophy from Texas A & M University. She has extensive experience in Student Engagement, New Student Orientation, Leadership Development, Greek Life, Housing, Volunteer & Service Learning, Strategic Planning, Institutional Assessment and Judicial Affairs.
