1. Who may participate?
All seniors graduating in May, August, or December, 2019, and their chosen junior candidates are eligible to participate in the ceremony of passing the Baylor traditions to the next graduating class.
2. How may I register to participate?
To register go by the Office of Student Life on the first floor of the McLane Student Life Center (SLC), sign up at one of the first two rehearsals, or e-mail Maria_I_Rodriguez@baylor.edu. Registration deadline is Monday, May 6, at 12 noon.
3. Do only women participate in Ring Out?
No. Women and men play significant parts of the ceremony.
4. How do I know what to do during the ceremony?
Women who want to participate in Ring Out need to attend at least one of two rehearsals scheduled on Friday, May 3, 12:30-1:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 5, 2-3 p.m. in Miller Chapel. There will be a final rehearsal for women and men on the day of Ring Out on Tuesday, May 7, 2:30-3 p.m. in Miller Chapel.
5. Do I need to provide my own ivy for the ceremony?
No. The ivy cable is provided. Historically, however, senior women have purchased gardenia corsages from local florists for their partners.
6. Must I have a partner?
Men and women are encouraged to have partners. If help is needed in making these arrangements, please contact the Associate Vice President for Student Life at 710-1314.
7. I want to participate, but don't have a graduation gown.
Arrangements can be made with the Associate Vice President for Student Life at 710-1314 to borrow a gown for the ceremony.
