WACO, TX -- Baylor University's Student Government announced Wednesday that it is initiating a student led petition in support of Baylor's bid for the George W. Bush Presidential Library. The university's final bid for the library has been submitted to the Presidential Library search committee in Washington, D.C. Baylor will send representatives to our nation's capital later this month to make an oral presentation. Baylor is doing everything that it can to show the hospitality that the Presidential Library would receive if Baylor is selected as its host university. However, the elected officials of Baylor's Student Government want the committee to experience and see the support that the current student body has for the Presidential Library.

Therefore, during the first two weeks of November Student Government will be circulating petitions for the student body to sign. To show support for the Presidential Library students can sign petitions before and after Chapel, at the Student Union Building and at eight other locations across campus. Baylor students, please check the Baylor Student Government Website for the schedule of signing times. Also, please feel free to contact your Student Congress Representative to sign the petition.
