Student Regent Application

For the last six years, we have been privileged to have at least one student representative on the Baylor University Board of Regents. This year we have two student regents, one voting and one non-voting. The applications for the 2019-2020 Student Regent position are now posted.  This is a tremendous opportunity for a student to serve our university.

Qualified candidates must have exhibited the ability to understand complex issues and communicate student perspectives to the highest level of leadership at Baylor University. The individual selected will be a non-voting Regent in their first term, but may be reselected to a second term, as a voting Regent.

The application packet and recommendation form are both located, above. In order to be considered for the position, applicants must submit two recommendations, at least one of which is from a professor.

Baylor University Student Regent Selection Timeline

Mid-November: Student Regent application available and information sessions

Mid-January: Student Regent application packet due to the Office of the Vice President for Student Life

Late January: Student Regent Selection Committee interviews candidates and selects semi-finalists

Early February: Semi-finalists interview with a select group of Regents who identify finalists

Mid-February: Finalists presented to the Nominating, Governance and Regent Leadership Committee for final selection
