Student Success Initiatives (SSI) strives to positively impact the success of Baylor students by addressing their social, emotional, vocational, spiritual and academic needs. Each of the SSI areas is designed to strengthen a student’s transition, persistence and retention, thereby creating a more robust coordinated care network for undergraduate students.

Baylor libraries reimagine technology services
With help from the library, student success initiatives and information technology services (ITS), 200 computers are available for students who have a specific academic need. These teams can use their tools collaboratively so in-need students can have a computer given to them for the semester.

Providing Bear Care: Baylor Faculty and Staff Volunteers Connect with Students, Provide Care and Resources
WACO, Texas (April 16, 2020) – More than 330 Baylor University faculty and staff, who have volunteered as “Bear Care Coaches,” are reaching out to assigned groups of students each week to help them navigate the stresses of remote online education, being away from their peers and trying to adapt to a college experience disrupted by COVID-19.

‘The store’ becomes partners with Central Texas Food Bank
Since opening, The Store has grown from serving 40 students weekly to 230 — making it difficult to keep the shelves replenished. This month the pantry will transition to The Store runs on donations and has a new partnership with The Central Texas Food Bank.
