Spiritual Life

The Resident Chaplain with Earle Residence Hall is a current Truett Seminary student who lives in the living-learning center and is a pastoral presence for the community. Through both formal and informal interactions, the Chaplain engages students to meet the ministerial needs of the community. The Chaplain works with the Earle Hall staff and student leaders to cast a vision for the spiritual formation of the community, plan service projects, and provide direction and leadership for worship and prayer services.

 

The Embedded Chaplain for the Baylor Science Building is a current Truett Seminary student who is interested in serving as chaplain at the Baylor Science Building.
Responsibilities include: playing a supportive role in Chapel services; identifying and working with various student groups and organizations such as The Science & Health Living-Learning Center (S&H-LLC), Student Chapter of the American Scientific Affiliation, Bears Medical Student Association, Christian Pre-Health Fellowship, Global Medical Missions Alliance, and more; connecting with the chairs of different departments in Baylor Science to create opportunities for formative experiences such as: retreats, lectures, prayer services and/or prayer guides, discernment groups etc.; working with leadership to be present in strategic ways: syllabi, classes, departmental events, lunch in the atrium, social media, newsletters, etc.; being available for and initiate pastoral conversations, making referrals to campus resources as needed; and following through on referrals from Spiritual Life, Care Team, faculty and administration.

 

The Embedded Chaplain for the Baylor Business School is a current Truett Seminary student who is interested serving as a chaplain for the Hankamer School of Business.
Responsibilities include: playing a supportive role in Faith and Business Chapels; working closely with various student groups such as The Christian Business org, Hankamer Scholars, Business Fellows; working with School of Business Leadership to create opportunities for formative experiences such as: retreats, lectures, prayer services and/or prayer guides, discernment groups etc.; working with leadership to be present in strategic ways: syllabi, classes, departmental events, lunch in the atrium, social media, newsletters, etc.; being available for and initiate pastoral conversations, making referrals to campus resources as needed; and following through on referrals from Spiritual Life, Care Team, Business faculty and administration.

Missions, Service, & Public Life

The Ministry Associate for Public Life will help further the goals of Baylor Spiritual Life by working directly with students and student organizations to train, equip, and teach leadership engagement, community-building and conversation skills, and spiritual growth and development. 

The Ministry Associate for Missions will help further the goals of Baylor Missions by recruiting and building the Missions Student Council, help with recruitment and logistics for mission trips, and coordinate and collaborate on missions education events and trainings. 

The Ministry Associate for Disaster Relief will help further the goals of Baylor Missions by recruiting and building the Bear Aid Disaster Relief Team and the Baylor Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, help with logistics and planning for disaster relief trips and Habitat events, and coordinate and collaborate on education events and trainings. 

The Ministry Associate for Community Service will help further the goals of Baylor Spiritual Life by working directly with students and student organizations to train, equip, and teach leadership engagement and community-building to help support local community service.
