Dr. Burt Burleson is the University Chaplain and Dean of Spiritual Life at Baylor University. As such, he is responsible for helping students to explore their spiritual gifts, God-given strengths and vocational calling. He oversees several ministry programs, including Chapel, resident chaplains, Christian campus ministries, mission opportunities including the engagement of faculty in strengthening discipline-specific mission trips, and campus dialogues about faith, learning, vocation and life.

Dr. Burleson is a Baylor grad, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Business form Baylor in 1980. He went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985 and his Doctor of Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary 1992. Before he started working as University Chaplain in 2007, Dr. Burleson was the pastor of DaySpring Baptist Church in Waco for 12 years.

Dr. Burleson and his wife Julie have been married since 1982, and they have two children, Abby and Brandt.
